P.7 Post Primary Transition Update

5th Jun 2020

Hello everyone

I hope you are all safe and well and looking forward to the summer break. Yesterday was another important milestone on your school journey. All of the staff at Greenhaw Primary and Nursery school hope it was a happy and exciting day for everyone as you now know the post-primary school you will be transferring to in September. As you all know, this would have been the time of year when we would also be preparing for our school show, getting ready for our annual school trip and planning for our Leavers' Ceremony. As you will understand, we are unable to do any of these in the current lock-down situation. However, we as a staff, feel that it is important that your transition to post-primary education should be celebrated in some way whilst abiding by current social distancing directives. With that in mind, we would like to invite the children of P.7 to come to the school on Friday 26th June 2020 to collect their books, their Annual Reports and a commemorative gift to remind you of your time at Greenhaw Primary school. It is also hoped as the lockdown gradually eases, that we will be able to organise a reunion of some sort for the children of P.7 in the Autumn term of the new academic year.

Regarding the collection of books and the gift, I will be in touch nearer the time to arrange suitable time-slots so that we keep to the rules on appropriate social distancing/large group gatherings.

Finally, I understand and appreciate that these are challenging times for everyone. Please be assured that we are doing our best, with all the limitations we face, to provide your children with some semblance of a positive school experience as they transfer to second level education.

Kind regards to you all and huge congratulations!

S. McLaughlin and all the staff of Greenhaw Primary and Nursery School
