This term the eco team are tackling waste management within the school with the focus being on reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. The last few weeks they have been busy doing waste audits. They have been emptying, examining, sorting and weighing the contents of class, office and canteen bins. As a result of the audits the children have decided that we need to be recycling more within our school. Mrs Cunningham spoke to the manager of Brickkiln, our school waste disposal company, and he has agreed to provide the school with more recycling bins. The teachers will encourage recycling at break and lunch and the eco team will audit the bins again in two months time to compare the difference of the content. Over the next coming months the Eco team also aim to tackle the issue of plastic. What a great bunch of Eco warriors!
