This term the children from P5 have been learning about Derry as part of our topic 'The World Outside My Window.' Last week the children visited the Guildhall, met the Mayor of Derry Lillian Seenoi-Barr and went on a tour of the walls. We had a really good chat with the mayor and asked her lots of questions such as 'Why did she want to be mayor?' and 'What is her favourite part of her job?' We even got to try on her chain and sit in her chair! After that we went a walk around the walls and heard about the history of the cannons, the gates and even heard a few ghost stories along the way! The sun was shining and we had a great day out!
